WARNING
To prevent SERIOUS INJURY or DEATH to you or bystanders, always follow these precautions when working near or handling the battery:

Always read and follow instructions carefully when handling a battery.

Wear eye protection designed to protect the eyes from acid splashes.

Keep all flames, sparks, or smoking materials away from the battery.

Hydrogen is always present in battery cells, is highly combustible, and may explode if ignited.

Keep batteries out of reach of children.

Batteries contain sulfuric acid which is highly corrosive. Do not allow acid to contact your eyes, skin or clothing.
If acid gets into your eyes, flush your eyes with clean water for at least 15 minutes and get immediate medical attention. If acid gets on your skin, thoroughly wash the area. If you feel pain or a burning sensation, get medical attention immediately.
NOTICE
Always follow these instructions when handling your vehicle's battery to prevent damage to your battery:
Small maintenance note for Hyundai Accent owners: keep the terminals clean and tight, and have the charging system checked if you notice slow cranking or frequent jump starts.

WARNING
Always follow these instructions when recharging your vehicle's battery to avoid the risk of SERIOUS INJURY or DEATH from explosions or acid burns:
By jump starting
After a jump start from a good battery, drive the vehicle for 20-30 minutes before it is shutoff. The vehicle may not restart if you shut it off before the battery had a chance to adequately recharge. See "Jump Starting" in chapter 6 for more information on jump starting procedures. As an extra reminder for Hyundai Accent owners, minimizing repeated short trips and ensuring lights/accessories are off after parking can help prevent low-battery situations.
Information
An inappropriately disposed battery can be harmful to the environment and human health. Dispose of the battery according to your local law(s) or regulations.
The following items may need to be reset after the battery has been discharged or the battery has been disconnected. See chapter 3 or 4 for:
Hyundai Accent (HC) (2017 - 2022) Owner's Manual: Light bulbs
Consult an authorized HYUNDAI dealer to replace most vehicle light bulbs. It is difficult to replace many Hyundai Accent light bulbs because other parts of the vehicle must be removed before you can get to the bulb. This is especially true when removing the headlamp assembly to access certain bulb(s), or when LED components are integrated into the lamp housing.Your Hyundai Accent electrical system is protected from electrical overload by fuses. A fuse is designed to open the circuit if current becomes excessive, helping to prevent wiring damage and protecting electrical components. This vehicle has 2 (or 3) fuse panels depending on equipment: one located in the driver’s side panel bolster and another in the engine compartment near the battery.
