Interior general precautions

Prevent caustic solutions such as perfume and cosmetic oil from contacting interior parts because they may cause damage or discoloration. If they do contact interior parts, wipe them off immediately. Follow the recommended cleaning guidance for vinyl and trim to help keep the Hyundai Accent interior in good condition.

NOTICE

• Never allow water or other liquids to come in contact with electrical/electronic components inside the vehicle as this may damage them.
• When cleaning leather products (steering wheel, seats etc.), use neutral detergents or low alcohol content solutions. If you use high alcohol content solutions or acid/ alkaline detergents, the color of the leather may fade or the surface may get stripped off.

Cleaning the upholstery and interior trim

Vinyl (if equipped)

For Hyundai Accent models equipped with vinyl trim, start by removing loose dust and grit with a soft whisk broom or a vacuum using a brush attachment. This step helps prevent scuffs while you clean. Wipe the vinyl with a dedicated vinyl cleaner and a microfiber cloth, working panel by panel. For stubborn marks, apply the cleaner to the cloth first (not directly to switches), then wipe and dry the surface so it stays clean and non-greasy.

Fabric (if equipped)

• Features of seat leather

- Leather is produced from the outer skin of an animal and is processed for automotive use. Because it is a natural material, thickness and density can vary from panel to panel. Minor wrinkles and texture changes can appear naturally as the leather expands and contracts with temperature and humidity.
- Some seat sections may include stretchable fabric or flexible backing materials to improve comfort in your Hyundai Accent.
- Areas that contact the body are shaped for comfort, and the side bolsters are designed to support posture and stability while driving.
- Wrinkles that develop from normal use are typically a natural characteristic and are not considered a defect.

CAUTION

• Wrinkles or abrasions that develop naturally from use are not covered by warranty.
• Belts with metallic accessories, zippers, or keys carried in a back pocket can scratch or wear the seat surface.
• Do not soak or saturate the seat. Excess moisture can alter the feel and durability of natural leather.
• Jeans or garments that can bleed dye may transfer color to the seat covering.

• Caring for the leather seats

- Vacuum the seats regularly to remove sand and abrasive dust that can dull the finish and accelerate wear. This routine care helps preserve the leather’s appearance in your Hyundai Accent.
- Wipe the leather often with a clean, dry, soft cloth to remove fingerprints and light residue.
- A suitable leather protector can help reduce abrasion and maintain color. Read the product instructions carefully and consult a specialist if you are unsure about compatibility.
- Light-colored leather (beige, cream beige) shows stains more easily, so clean it more frequently and avoid dark, dye-heavy clothing when possible.

• Cleaning the leather seats

- Remove contamination as soon as possible. Use the guidance below for common substances and avoid harsh solvents.
- Cosmetic products (sunscreen, foundation, etc.): apply a small amount of cleansing cream to a cloth and wipe the affected area. Then wipe with a damp cloth and dry with a clean, dry cloth.
- Beverages (coffee, soft drinks, etc.): apply a small amount of neutral detergent and wipe gently until the residue no longer smears, then dry the area.
- Oil
Blot immediately with an absorbent cloth, then use a stain remover intended only for natural leather.
- Chewing gum
Harden the gum with ice and remove it gradually without pulling aggressively on the leather.

Tip: For best results in any Hyundai Accent interior, avoid direct sunlight while cleaning and keep the cabin ventilated so surfaces dry evenly.

Cleaning the seat belt webbing

Clean the belt webbing using a mild soap solution recommended for upholstery or carpet cleaning. Follow the soap manufacturer’s instructions and rinse lightly if required. Do not bleach or re-dye the webbing, as chemicals and dyes can weaken the fibers and reduce seat belt strength. After cleaning, allow the belt to dry fully before retracting it.

Cleaning the interior window glass
