If your vehicle is equipped with a sunroof, you can slide or tilt your sunroof with the sunroof switch located on the overhead console. In your Hyundai Accent, always make sure the opening is clear before operating the sunroof or sunshade.

The sunroof can only be operated when the ignition switch is in the ON position.
The sunroof can be operated for approximately 30 seconds after the ignition switch is in the ACC or LOCK position. However, if the front door is open, the sunroof cannot be operated even within the 30 second period. This retained-access function is convenient when parking your Hyundai Accent, but it is disabled when a front door is opened.
WARNING
NOTICE
Do not operate the sunroof when roof bars are installed on the vehicle or when there is luggage on the roof.

Information
The sunshade opens automatically when the sunroof glass is opened, but the sunshade does not close automatically when the sunroof glass is closed. Also, only the sunshade cannot be closed when the sunroof glass is opened.
NOTICE
Do not pull the sunshade up or down, or apply excessive force as such action may damage the sunshade or cause it to malfunction.

The sunroof glass tilts open or closes while the switch is pushed. Release the switch when the glass reaches the desired position for airflow and comfort.
Information
The sunroof glass cannot slide open and tilt open at the same time. You cannot tilt the sunroof glass open while the sunroof glass is slide open. Also, you cannot slide the sunroof glass open while the sunroof is tilt open. Slide open or tilt open the sunroof glass when the sunroof glass is completely closed.
Extra tip for Hyundai Accent owners: after using the sunroof, confirm the glass is fully closed before leaving the vehicle to help reduce wind noise and minimize the chance of water entering the cabin during sudden weather changes.

Information
To reduce wind noise while driving, drive at the recommended position (first detent position) before the maximum slide open position. Many Hyundai Accent drivers find this setting offers comfortable airflow with reduced buffeting.

If the sunroof glass senses any obstacle while it is closing automatically, it will reverse direction and then stop at a certain position. This safety feature is designed to help reduce the risk of injury or damage when operating the Hyundai Accent sunroof.
The auto reverse function may not work if a thin or soft object is caught between the sliding sunroof glass and the sunroof sash. Always visually confirm the opening is clear before closing the sunroof.

Close the sunroof securely when leaving your vehicle. This helps protect the Hyundai Accent interior from rain or snow and can also reduce the chance of theft.
