1.Loosen the wheel nuts slightly.Raise the vehicle, and make sure it is securely supported.
2.Remove the rear wheel and tire (A) from front hub.
Tightening torque :107.9 - 127.5 N.m (11.0 - 13.0 kgf.m, 79.6 - 94.0 lb-ft)

• Be careful not to damage the hub bolts when removing the rear wheel and tire.
3.Remove the rear brake caliper. (Refer to Brake System - "Rear Disc Brake")
4.Disconnect the rear wheel speed sensor connector.

5.Loosen the screws and then remove the brake disc.
Tightening torque :4.9 - 5.9 N.m (0.5 - 0.6 kgf.m, 3.6 - 4.3 lb-ft)

6.Loosen the bolts and then remove the hub bearing.
Tightening torque :49.0 - 58.8 N.m (5.0 - 6.0 kgf.m, 36.2 - 43.4 lb-ft)


[Drum type]
1.Loosen the wheel nuts slightly. Raise the vehicle, and make sure it is securely supported.
2.Remove the rear wheel and tire (A).
Tightening torque :107.9 - 127.5 N.m (11.0 - 13.0 kgf.m, 79.6 - 94.0 lb-ft)

• Be careful not to damage the hub bolts when removing the rear wheel and tire.
3.Loosen the screw and then remove the drum.
Tightening torque :4.9 - 5.9 N.m (0.5 - 0.6 kgf.m, 3.6 - 4.3 lb-ft)

4.Disconnect the rear wheel speed sensor connector.

5.Loosen the hub mounting bolts (A) and then remove the hub from the torsion beam.
Tightening torque :49.0 - 58.8 N.m (5.0 - 6.0 kgf.m, 36.2 - 43.4 lb-ft)

6.Remove the upper shoe return spring (A), lower shoe return spring (B), level pawl (C) and djuster assembly (D).

7.Remove the adjusting spring (A).

8.Remove the shoe hold assembly (A) and then remove the brake shoe.

9.Disconnect the parking cable.

10.Loosen the brake fluid tube Flare nut (A).
Tightening torque :12.7 - 16.7 N.m (1.3 - 1.7 kgf.m, 9.4 - 12.3 lb-ft)

11.Loosen the mounting bolts (A) and then remove the wheel cylinder (B) from the backing plate (C).

12.Install in the reverse order of removal.
13.After installation, bleed the brake system. (Refer to Brake System - "ESP System Bleeding")
1.Check the hub for cracks and the splines for wear.
2.Check the brake disc for scoring and damage.
3.Check the rear axle carrier for cracks.
4.Check the bearing for cracks or damage.16
5.Replace only the sensor cap when the warning light turns on due to a defective sensor cap of the hub bearing.(Refer to Brake System - "Rear Wheel Speed Sensor")
